Competition By Phone (MITI-Award Sumatera)

Due to some considerations relates to the earthquake disaster in Padang which leaves deep agony for our nation, and for some another reasons, IPTEK Gathering for Sumatera region which should have been held this weekend is cancelled. The impact of this cancellation is that MITI-Award competition is not feasible to perform in a meeting forum. We, the committee of MITI-Award, then take a special way to find the best contestant from the best three in Sumatera. We call this ‘emergency’ way ‘competition by phone’. We will call each of the candidates at the time which has been determined, one by one. We will draw lots to make the turn.

In this model of competition, every contestant must present their ideas about the specific theme which has been given before, namely “Preparing the young generation, university students in particular, as the future leaders”. The jury team (in one place) will listen through the phone which the loudspeaker is turned on. The jury, then, will give some questions toward the ideas revealed by the candidates. After it is enough, the jury will turn to the other questions which might relate to some personality issues which need very subjective answers.

The competition itself insha Allah will be held on Sunday Oct 18th 2009 by phone at range 8am until 8.45 am. Every contestant must be ready to be called at that range of time. They must turn their mobile phone on.

The jury team of this special competition are:
1. Ellita Permata W, S.S. (master candidate of culture science study of UGM, Yogyakarta)
2. Haryandi, S.T. (master candidate of chemical engineering of Sweden & UGM, Yogyakarta)
3. Angga Antagia, S.E. (sharia economics agent, alumni of economics and business faculty of UGM, Yogyakarta)*

And we would like to invite these best three candidates to join this challenge:

The candidates must notice some things below:
1. Make sure that your mobile phone is turned on at the time which have been mentioned above
2. Ensure yourself that you are not away from your mobile phone at the time
3. For some reasons, we ask you to prepare telkomsel number. Let the committee know your precise number to call.
4. Ensure yourself that you are in the area which has good signal of telkomsel for the sake of our convenience while making conversation.
